The Create New Seed button is used to create an initial copy of your data or "seed" on a portable storage device (e.g. a USB key or portable hard drive) which you then send to OnTheNet to be copied into your backup account.

You would normally only need to do this if you have a lot of data which is going to take a long time (days or weeks) to seed via the internet.

Note that there may be an additional charge involved in having OnTheNet copy your seed to your backup account.

Prior to creating your seed you need to select the data you'd like backed up, which also sets what data is put into your seed. You may have selected the data you'd like backed up when CirroStore was first installed, but you can check and change your selection using the Folders to Backup area.

You'll need to attach a portable storage device large enough to hold your data to your computer, e.g. by plugging in your USB key or portable hard drive.

When you're happy with your data selection, click on the Create New Seed button.

Read the message there, and click the Yes if you're ready to continue.

First select the portable storage device to hold your data, then click the OK button.

Your data will then be copied to your device. When it's finished, you can package the device securely, include a cover letter telling us who the device belongs to, and send them to:
